Methodology and definitions

Scope. The report counts listings that currently pass Season Approved's publication-eligibility checks and come from retailers with eligible catalog items. It measures catalog listings, not store-level inventory quantities or sales.

Classification coverage. The classified total counts distinct eligible listings whose primary catalog color is not black. The coverage rate divides that count by all eligible listings.

Season totals. The four rows require a primary parent-season classification and exclude listings whose primary catalog color is black because that ubiquitous neutral would disproportionately inflate Winter. Black remains included in the broader eligible listing total.

Match score.Confidence is a product-image-to-palette model score shown on a 0–100 scale. It is not a measured accuracy rate and does not diagnose a person's color season.

Freshness and limits. This is a rolling catalog report, so values change as retailer catalogs and publication eligibility change. Results describe the catalogs Season Approved covers; they are not a census of the entire fashion market.
